The Castlevania universe is built around the eternal conflict between the Belmont family and the vampire lord Dracula, spanning centuries of gothic horror across Europe. Its roster of characters—Trevor, Sypha, Alucard, Richter, Soma, Maria, and dozens of others—is well-documented across its many games and the Netflix animated series. 'Gaster' does not appear in any of these works.

It is possible the name was confused with another property, or that a fan-fiction crossover introduced the term informally. Neither scenario constitutes canon. This encyclopedia's commitment is to accuracy: we celebrate what fans love, but we do not invent lore to fill a gap.
